All agriculture students had the opportunity to hear about the day to day training, testing, and job requirements of a K-9 officer.
Alumni members presented the opportunities that their organization offers in addition to those of the FFA organization. This event gives them the opportunity to present to parents of potential members.
The agriculture teacher/ FFA advisers met with the planning committee to discuss volunteers, jobs for students, and other logistics for several months prior to the AgVenture event.
At the Pine Island Dairy Farm, students were able to see the entire dairy operation, from feeding and caring for the cows and calves, to growing the grains and hay, the milking parlor, and finally, the cooling tanks. The students were able to see how much milk the cows produce on a daily basis, and what the raw product looks like.

Students work throughout the school year maintaining their SAE projects and FFA records. Although it is a new skill for many students, by the end of the year they have a complete portfolio, and are often amazed at how many hours they spend working on their projects.
Matt Winter, Chapter Reporter, outlined the scholarship award and what the requirements are to receive this accommodation. The members were reminded at several chapter meeting about this award, as well as the minimum 2.0 GPA requirement for participation in any chapter events.
13 FFA members worked for funds for their trip to state convention in June 2014. They advertised, organized, and worked during the car wash so they could earn this money.
Over 250 guests were in attendance at the Beginning of the Year Banquet. This is the largest attendance that this event has ever had, mainly due to our increased number of Agriscience Foundations courses offered at the school.
The FFA members collected 2 truckloads of toys from homeroom classes at the school. The toys were put on display to increase incentive to bring in toys. Part of the officer team delivered the toys to the salvation army location and accepted a plaque as a token of their appreciation.
FFA Relay committee members work to make their own signs, costumes, and plan for the themed laps at the event. Last years team was a huge success, and this year we are working to have an even better team. The FFAs
FFA members met four times to create this native Florida butterfly garden in the courtyard of the school.
